The Mollman Farm Cattle Herd was the beginning of our beautiful farm. It started in 2015 and has grown into a group of mama cows selected for their great temperament and most importantly their impressive calves. Of course we can’t give all the credit to mom, we are selective with our bull’s because they play a huge part of giving us those beautiful ribeye’s.

When you purchase meat from Mollman Farm, you know it came from a farm that puts pride in animal husbandry. We’re in this business for happy, healthy animals how mother nature intended! Our cattle are never in a close confinement area, meaning from the day they are born until they go to processing they are on pasture. We only use antibiotics when necessary, and wean our calves along side their mama’s to keep stress levels down. Our cattle are fed quality alfalfa/grass hay and slowly finished on a corn, oats, barley & molasses feed.

We offer quarter, half or whole beef. If you purchase one of these you get to choose how your beef is processed. This means you get to pick the lean-to-fat ratio of your burger, how many pounds per package, thickness of your streaks, size of roasts, etc.

We also offer smaller bundle’s throughout the year, as supply last. We understand not everyone has a ton of freezer room and try to accommodate as much as we can.

Farmers Note: We also sell brats made of 60% Mollman Farm pork 40% Mollman Farm beef!

At Mollman Farm, we raise Idaho Pasture Pigs. This breed was specifically designed as a true grazing pig. On top of fresh pasture & quality alfalfa hay in the winter, our pigs are fed a small portion of a corn, steam rolled oats, barley, & molasses mixture (plus the occasional garden snacks). This combination produces a meat that can have twice the amount vitamin E, three times the amount of vitamin D, more healthy Omega-3 fats, and contain more trace nutrients than confined pigs. We take great pride in raising healthy happy animals!

When it comes to processing pork, there are different curing options that effect the final cost. Due to this Mollman Farm has the processor’s contact you, they will go over your cut list wishes, then you the customer will pay the processor directly based on your agreed upon list.

All cost are based off the rail weight of your pig. Rail weight, is the weight going into the cooler. The weight of final product is slightly less do to fat loss & bone loss during processing. Mollman Farm’s average rail weight for Idaho Pasture Pigs is 175-190 lbs. Once the rail weight of your pig is established, Mollman Farm will contact you with the cost of your whole or half pig. We do ask for a $150 deposit to hold your pig.

You will also get to decide how thick you would like your pork chops & how many per package. Larger or smaller roasts. And weather you would like all or some of your ground pork turned into sausage.

Farmers Note: I like to keep some of my ground pork plain and substitute into any recipe that calls for ground beef. It makes great tacos, stuffed peppers, spaghetti, meatballs, & so much more! Another option if you are’t a ham lover, is keeping fresh ham’s or turning them into ground pork or sausage. I like to salt brine my fresh ham roast for 2-4 hours before slow cooking. Because fresh ham is a less marbled cut, the brine insures a juicy roast!
